Description

The default information shown on a PDP is incorrect. The product description and price don’t match.

What is the problem?

While browsing products on PollardWater.com, customers can land on a default sku product detail page (with no material selected). The current logic for these pages is to display the default SKU name and image, but display the lowest price in the SKU family. This can result in pages like this (https://www.pollardwater.com/product/pollardwater-lpd-chlor-fnst-dechlorinator-plpd250/_/A-ProdFamily-401461) showing a cheaper price than the item displayed.

On Ferguson.com, we display different messages like "starting at" above the price until a material/measurement/finish is selected. And we indicate when the pricing displayed is for a specific option.

How did you become aware of the problem?

Pollardwater sent us the problem with the example above

Who is affected (customer, associate)?

Somehow customers are seeing the price with the wrong SKU and calling in about it, and Pollardwater has to honor the price

What is the value to the business and/or customers?

To Business: the correct price on however many orders are being handled in this scenario

Ideal outcome

The lowest-price-SKU would be defaulted to automatically with the correct image, product description, SKU number, and price displayed
