SOP - DXT Shop by Job Navigation Images

Purpose

This document outlines the key processes and policies for creating new Shop by Job navigation images for merchandising 

Important Notes –

• These are the navigation images that appear in the dropdown on the shop by job tab. 
• All navigation images are sorted by KOB.  
• If you are requested to create a shop by job navigation image, follow the procedure below. 

Policies and Procedures 

1. Obtaining image and working file location 

• Obtain all images in the documents folder of the Workfront project provided by merchandising, or if you are provided MPID’s make sure to grab them from Ferguson.com. 
• Locate the working design files to begin creating the nav images.  
• Keep the navigation images in the correct KOB working file. 
• Working folder path: documents > work > ferguson.com > content > guides > _Shop By Job Program > nav-images 
• Inside the nav-images folder you can select the KOB you are creating the images for. 
• The source file has all the images given by merch or downloaded before formatting.  
• The exports contain all the final images ready to be uploaded into WCS. 
• The Sketch file contains all final navigation images ready to export and be used for WCS. 

2. Creating the Image 

• Inside the sketch file duplicate a current art board and rename it the equivalent name that it has in Workfront. Example “Boiler Installation” 
• Art board is 125px x 125px with a background color of #F0F3F5 
• Art board is exported at 2x the size with a quality of 60% or something similar to get the file size down.  
• Product image can either be cut out in photoshop then placed on the art board in sketch, or you change the opacity to darken on the product image with the white background to blend it into the navigation art board.  

3. Handing off to Merchandising 

• After exporting the art board to the images file, you can create the WCS asset. 
• Naming convention on the assets are “Navigation SBJ [KOB] [name of product category] Image” 
• Example: “Navigation SBJ FFS First Aid Refill Image” 
• Provide Merchandising the asset number on your navigation image task.
