Considerations:

  1. HTML format

    1. Page comments are currently not being exported during HTML export

    2. Migrating to SharePoint will require converting all .html files to .aspx files.

      1. May require scripting. See Confluence to SharePoint Online Migration for reference

  2. XML format

    1. Select Custom Export

    2. Select only the pages that are needed to export.

      1. The PES space is huge and cannot readily be imported into another space due to size.

      2. Export from Data Center sometimes doesn’t pick up all pages.

  3. There are plugins in the Bridge and Build Confluences that are not available in Prod Confluence so some content may not display or display correctly.

    1. Importing a space into the Prod instance will require users to have an account to access Confluence.

    2. XML exports do not include Team Calendars.

    3. Users and permissions are not imported.

    4. Templates are not exported

  4. PDF format

    1. You can add a title page, table of contents, and customized headers and footers to the PDF output.

    2. For more advanced customizations, you can apply Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) modifications.

    3. These customizations are specific to each space, and you need the 'Space Administrator' permission to apply these customizations.

    4. For more information, see Customize exports to PDF.

  5. There may be documentation spread across individual Personal spaces.
