Matthew Evert and Dan Flynn, thanks for these suggestions. I want to hold on to these for a later iteration. Please proceed with the flow that I outlined:
Camera scanning on a separate screen.
Product detail on a separate screen with the qty stepper
Order List on it's own page with a scanner and checkout "buttons".
The only change I would like to make in response to your suggestion is making the Order List editable (qty steppers and remove links)
This will allow us to get Self-Checkout live sooner and see if a separate screen for the scanner is preferred by users than the always on barcode scanner camera
